VT Group at Work
Mobilization Support Activities at Fort
McCoy, Wisc.
Serving as prime contractor (2003-2008) and subcontractor to
Logistics Solutions Group (LSG), VT Group operates the second
largest mobilization-demobilization Installation Materiel
Management Activity (IMMA) for the U.S. Army's First Army Division,
and we have been recognized with an Army Deployment Excellence
Award as First Army's premier maintenance provider.
Our operations and maintenance (O&M) work covers more than
2,414 building on 127,000 acres and more than 400 reserve centers
in eight states totaling six million square feet. Operating
IMMA, we perform more than 20,000 work orders annually on more than
11,000 pieces of equipment, including a fleet of more than 500
commercial and 400 tactical vehicles and major pieces of
engineering and construction equipment. In 2003, under our
leadership, the IMMA became ISO 9000:2000 certified.
When Fort McCoy had a mobilization surge requirement, VT Group
responded quickly by initiating 24/7 operations and establishing a
mobilization operations center (MOC), a logistics operations center
(LOC) and, later on, an integrated mobilization unit in-processing
center (MUIC). In fulfilling the surge requirements, we:
-
Processed 20,300 mobilizing and 36,800 demobilizing troops;
-
Filled 64,000 supply requests totaling $40 million; and
-
Transported nearly 20,00 pieces of military equipment (11,400
mobilizing and 7,800 demobilizing) totaling more than 159.7 million
pounds.
We also provides support for mobilization exercises, including
providing logistics support staff to augment the unit reception
center (URC) during mobilization exercises (MOBEX), and accounting
for all force modernization equipment including communications,
weapons, computers and vehicles.
