VT Group Awarded Voluntary Protection Program Star

August 30, 2010

WASHINGTON, DC-VT Group U.S., an industry leader in the delivery of customer-critical services to government agencies and U.S. arm of U.K.-based Babcock International (BAB.L), is pleased to announce that it has been awarded VPP Star Status at its Fort Huachuca location.

"This prestigious designation is a result of the hard work and dedication of our Ft. Huachuca team," said Chris Taylor, president of the Technical Services Business Unit of VT Group. "VT is committed to a zero injury philosophy, and this award illustrates our ongoing pledge to make safety at the heart of everything we do."

Created in 1982, OSHA's Voluntary Protection Programs recognize and partner with businesses and worksites that show excellence in occupational safety and health. Sites are committed to effective employee protection beyond the requirements of OSHA standards. VPP participants develop and implement systems to effectively identify, evaluate, prevent, and control occupational hazards to prevent employee injuries and illnesses. As a result, the average VPP worksite has a lost workday incidence rate at least 50 percent below the average of its industry.

VT provides a broad range of logistics support to the Army at Ft. Huachuca including mobilization, RESET, and inventory management.
